INSIDER  FACTS  ABOUT  UNICORNS

2/3/2015

Every school history student knows that it's primary source evidence that counts, right? Eye witness accounts from people who saw it themselves are the ones that get the points...
Well, I've already written in the product listings how the Unicorn design came to be:

'Who says unicorns have to be elegant stallions or doe-eyed little ponies? Eliza, 6 yrs, wanted her own unicorn t-shirt, and this is what she drew. And it seems no one can resist the charms of a clumsy footed, scraggy tailed and slightly sad looking unicorn (think Eeyore in a party hat!), and so the 'uni-donkey' became part of the Lost Shapes range. Royalties to the designer, obviously.'

But what I haven't explained is how we know the unicorn pictures are so accurate. I think it's best if I just share a conversation:
Kids are playing 'Eye Spy' in the back of the car.
Eliza: 'Mum, can you tell the boys to stop doing imaginary things like methane?'
Me: 'Boys, be fair, stick to things we can see from here... Eliza, you have a go.'
Eliza: 'I spy with my little eye something beginning with U.'
LONG PERIOD WHILE EVERYONE LOOKS AROUND FOR UMBRELLAS ETC.
Boys: '...Unicorn???'
Eliza: 'Yeay!'

So there you have it - more real than methane, and visible from the window of an old Peugeot driving across Somerset. We may be the only company who actually know what unicorns look like - just be glad we choose to share our insight with you, via t-shirts.

The Unicorn design is available on t-shirts for men, women and kids, and unisex adults' sweatshirts.

    NO MORE BLOGGING

I stopped writing this blog a while ago - social media just seems a more responsive way to share ideas these days (plus I never got 'round to it!). I'll leave these posts up for now for anyone who wants to get a bit more of a sense of what's behind what I do.
